Always keep the pad in the area that is available to your pet but away from his bed and food. Place your pet on the pad so he can smell the pad's special scent. If he doesn't releive himself immediately, take back several times until he is successful. When he relieves himself on the pad, reward him with a treat or enthusiastic praise.
