About Hamdard Joshanda HerbHamdard Joshanda Herb is an Unani herbal medication which is in the form of Joshanda (Decoction), also called Matbookh or Tabeekh, which means cooked. Many roots and barks, stems and flowers etc are boiled for a prescribed time before their active principles are extracted. The proportion usually is 1 teaspoon of the dried herb to 1 cup of water. Always use stainless steel, glass, or porcelain vessels to make decoctions. Let cool, and add honey or other flavouring agents if desired. Generally drug and water ratio should be 1:6 or 1:8.
